I study US–Caribbean relations in the 19th and 20th centuries, with a particular focus on US–Panamanian interactions during the Cold War, especially diplomacy, treaty negotiations, and the political dynamics surrounding control of the Panama Canal.

Before entering the PhD program at the University of Pittsburgh in Fall 2025, I completed a BA in Political Science and International Relations at the University of Perugia (2021) and an MA in History at the University of Padua (2024); my MA thesis, “Un país que no se vende”: Negotiation and Signing of the Torrijos–Carter Panama Canal Treaties, examined the intensive series of meetings and negotiating sessions in 1977 that culminated in the treaties’ signing and ratification.

I have professional experience as a digital archivist at the State Archives of Perugia (2025) and currently collaborate with the association Liberi Oltre le Illusioni as co-head of the historical editorial team and head of the podcast editorial team. I co-created and co-host the history podcast Oltre la Storia and I created and host Storia della Germania.
